Bodrum - Gökova - Bodrum

Day 1. Bodrum
Embarkation in Bodrum Harbor around 4 pm with welcome meeting and introduction to the crew. Cruise to a nearby bay for swimming, snorkeling and overnight.

Day 2. Knidos
Early departure to Knidos, a famous ancient Carian town, where Aphrodite ruled. You can explore the remains of this ancient city, including an impressive amphitheater. Excavation of the site is still going on. The town, renowned for its history as much as for its geography and boasting an attractive landscape, used to have two ports. the small bay was the military harbor of Knidos, whereas the ancient geographer and historian Strabon from central Anatolia once wrote that 20 ships moored here simultaneously. Ample time for swimming, exploring the site, hiking to the lighthouse, etc. Evening in Knidos.

Day 3. Mersincik Bay - Cati
Cruise to the beautiful inlet of Mersincik Bay, an absolute favorite with its idyllic anchorages and crystal waters. The bay is surrounded with mountains covered with dense forests. From here you can cruise either to Çati, or there is a possibility of stopping in Körmen, the harbor used by the Bodrum-Datça ferries, to go to Datça (optional) for walking around or shopping in this pleasant quiet harbor only 8 km away, stopping on the way at the windmills on the hill and in the inland “Old Datça” village well worth a walk through its paved narrow streets winding their way around old stone houses. Alternatively, cruise to Buyuk and Kucuk Çati areas. The harmonized scenery in this bay displays blues and greens complimenting each other with pine trees worked into it just like and Escher work. Day 4. Sedir Adasi (Cleopatra's Island) - Karacasogut
Several miles northeast there are three islands known as Sehir Adalari, and the largest one is Sedir Adasi or Cleopatra's Island, as it is called by the locals. There are remnants from the ancient city of Cedreae, which means 'cedar'. It is said that the Queen of Egypt, Cleopatra basked on a beach and to feel more at home, had Marc Antony bring sand all the way from Egypt. While it is true that the sand here has an unusual consistency, it was not shipped from Egypt as the popular legend goes, but rather it is of a peculiar calcium carbonate formation not found anywhere else in the region.  The island is surrounded by a fortification wall which was constructed with ashlar blocks. In the middle of the island, remains of the Apollo temple erected in Doric-order can be seen on top its platform. One can discern that the temple was transformed into a church during the Byzantine period. On the northern slope of the island there is an amphitheater in a remarkably preserved state. The theater with its 15 rows of seating was divided into nine sections of with wedge-shaped stairways. You will be amazed to see a theater here, the orchestra part of which is buried. The island's agora extends out towards the west. It is possible to see the beautiful stone masonry of the agora walls, a section of which is still standing. Here, inscriptions that been found of the variety that would generally be uncovered in an agora. One of them mentions the rules and conditions of the Three Atlet's Holiday. At the same time, this inscription tells us of the existence of a stadium that was here. Besides the abundance of ruins on this inhabited island, it is possible to see numerous knights' coat of arms. This shows us that the island was used by the knights of Rhodes. 

Cruise to Karacasogut, one of Gokova's little corners of paradise, a small cozy village in an attractive bay with the slopes around densely covered in pine. Karacasogut Limani was the harbor to the ancient city of Amnintos, the ruins of which are located on the pine covered hill to the west of Sogut Limani, where you can see the fortification wall sections standing up to 5.5 m high, the entrance to which is on the North side. Possibility to go to Marmaris (45 min - optional) to stroll through the harbor and the old town, go shopping or sample the night life, or to Dalyan/Caunos Delta ( with Lycian rock tombs, Roman ruins, the famous Mud Bath and protected Delta, home to the Caretta Caretta turtles. Late afternoon return to the boat. Choice of staying at Karacasogut or Tuzla bay.

Day 5. English Harbor
One of the most famous bays of Gokova which has a number of coves is Degirmen Buku. Surrounded by pine forests, it extends inland as far as 2.8 nautical miles. For this reason it became a sheltered cove formed form a deep inlet. Besides possessing some incredible beauty with greenery spread out like Robin Hood’s tunic, it derives its rightful fame from a number of sheltered coves and inlets. Cruise to English Harbor and its incredible vistas of green forests and blue sea. Due to its natural shape this harbor is protected from winds in any direction, and thus is always calm, peaceful, and safe. The British Royal Navy hid and sheltered here for a few months during World War II, this is how it got its present name. Okluk Koyu constitutes a decent mooring point. There are restaurants here. The statue of a mermaid at the front of promontory is waiting there as if to show you your way.  Cruise through Ballisu (honeyed water) and Longoz bays. These are quiet and picturesque bays perfect for relaxing and swimming.

Day 6. Cokertme - Kissebükü
Visit Cokertme and Kissebükü (Church) bays. Island pine woods and olive groves cover the low mountains and hills surrounding the bay. Cokertme has wonderful walking paths through the village and families weave their own carpets. Kissebükü is a large bay with several enchanting coves and Byzantine ruins hidden among olive trees along the beach. A swim in its pristine water is a distinct pleasure.

Day 7. Orak Island - Karaada
Cruise to Orak Island and its crystal waters for lunch, relaxation and swimming. Overnight in a bay near Karaada, famous for its hot springs and known in ancient times as Arkanessos, or in the Bodrum harbor.

Day 8. Bodrum
Breakfast and disembarkation in Bodrum by 10:00 a.m.
